Hobson Yoder Financial Group

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hobson Yoder Financial Group (HYFG) website.

You may be exhausted by the current economic crisis and not want to hear/read any more about it, or you may still be looking for assurances wherever you can find them.

We can assure you that at HYFG, we believe that we will emerge from the economic debacle as a nation and that our equity markets will be strong again.

We believe that we must respond rationally to the current situation.   There are some things that we can control in our financial lives

.   We can get out of debt (and stay out).

.   We can maintain our emergency fund.

.   We can control our spending.

.   We can be sure we have the right kind and the right amount of insurance.

.   Some may have to push back retirement and work longer.

As this is being written, the S & P is up a little more than 10 percent in four days.   This is probably   a bull run in a bear market, yet we are glad to see it.   Some analysts are beginning to see some rays of hope for the domestic stock market.

If you haven't seen it, rent the movie, Bucket List.  Granted the two main characters spent a lot of money going places and seeing things, yet, in the end, the Morgan Freeman character had two questions:   "Have you found joy in your life?" and "Have you brought joy to the life of others?"

The current situation makes us know that life is more than money.   Whenever you want to talk about what is going on with your portfolio or other planning issues, we are only a phone call or an email away.

We utilize a disciplined approach with the following 13 wealth management issues that our research shows are important for our clients to address. Several years ago, Dr. Sid Mittra, professor emeritus of Finance at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, wrote a Client's Bill of Rights for all those working with a financial advisor. Martha first saw these 10 Amendments in the Financial Planning Magazine in August 1993 and has wished ever since that she had written them.

We at Hobson Yoder Financial Group work really hard to meet the requirements of all 10 Amendments. We ask our clients to tell us if we fall short on any single one.If we do fulfill all the amendments for them, we ask our clients to refer their family and friends to our practice.

A Client's Bill of Rights

Dr. Sid Mittra

Amendment 1: I have the right to deal with someone I can trust.

Amendment 2: I have the right to deal with someone who has a special area of expertise orunique capability.

Amendment 3: I have the right to deal with someone who listens to me and hears my needs and concerns.

Amendment 4: I have the right to deal with someone who not only critically evaluates a variety of investment and insurance products, but also offers them to me with an eye toward appropriateness and suitability.

Amendment 5: I have the right to expect performance. This means not only performance from investment

andinsurance products selected, but also performance in enhancing my overall financial well- being.

Amendment 6: I have the right to deal with someone who instills in me the feeling that my money isbeingtreatedas though it is my money.

Amendment 7: I have the right to deal with someone who prioritizes my short - and long-term goal and objectivesand develops a plan so I can achieve them in the most efficient manner.

Amendment 8: I have the right to deal with someone who delivers information to me at a level which I can understand.

Amendment 9: I have the right to deal with someone who is oriented toward working with me over the long haul.

Amendment 10: I have the right to deal with someone who, by virtue of education, experience, technical competence and adherence to ethical practices, is recognized as a top professional in the field.

We hope the Bill of Rights is helpful and will become your basis for dealing with--or not dealing with--any financial advisors. If you would like to talk with us about how we work with our clients, please give us a call.
